Sorry that I’ve been totally absent.
I’ve been struggling with my physical and mental health a lot since early June and I think I’m starting to get a handle on things again. So, I’m hoping to be active again soon but I’m going to be remaking. I’ll post the new blog url in a couple days. Again, sorry about that (・_・;)

Help Jericho voidjackalope stay in Canada!

voidbear:

Hi! I’m Dillon voidbear, a non-binary genderpunk. I live in Canada with my partner Jericho voidjackalope, and we need your help.

Some of you may have noticed the little “GoFundMe” badge pop up on my page. If you follow Jericho or I, you know what’s going on. But, if you don’t, here’s a rundown:

Jericho (some of you know them as Nemesis or Voidjackalope) and I have been in a relationship for a while now (June 18th being a year, also the day we’re getting married) and we’re trying to get them to stay in Canada. They’re a citizen of the USA and the cost to immigrate is very expensive, as you can see from our goal.

We’re lucky enough to be staying with my grandparents who are letting us stay free of charge, so all of the money we get from this is going towards keeping Jericho in Canada.

Going home to their parents is a bad situation to be in. Their parents are abusive, controlling, and treat them like they’re a child when they’re 20 years old. They’re not allowed to do anything without them allowing it, and if they have to go back there, we fear we might lose contact.

THE LINK TO DONATE TO HELP KEEP JERICHO IN CANADA IS HERE.

We broke down the costs, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

There’s also some neat little gifts for donating, such as art from Jericho (or myself but I’m really bad), promos, BOTM, etc. Please, boost this and help us out!

Thank you!

can we please remember that Time magazine rigged their own online poll and refused to have Laverne Cox as person of the year, despite overwhelming support

they never said why they did this, nor have they apologized for it

Laverne Cox talks to TIME about the transgender movement

side note: i don’t like the “next civil rights” language on the cover because it erases the fact that laverne’s experiences aren’t just that of being a trans woman. laverne cox is a black trans woman. that is important.
to suggest that the ongoing lack of civil rights for black folks in this country doesn’t directly inform the particular form of transmisogyny she receives is ridiculous in a world where black trans women are disproportionately affected by both physical and economic violence.

yes to above re: civil rights stuff
but it also kinda sticks in my craw
that a Black trans woman (and other twoc)
ALREADY STARTED A MOVEMENT
on a day 40 or so years ago.
Marsha P. Johnson and Silvia Rivera and a whole bunch of other twoc/trans feminine poc
decided they’d had enough and fucking started a riot
this riot was the proverbial match to powder keg
that started what has turned into a global movement
except
except
two years after they started this movement
Sylvia Rivera (and all twoc but her specifically) was being thrown under the bus by the GLF
marking the beginning of the total co-opting and occupation of a movement started by twoc (who were also often sex workers, street people, etc.), by white cis gays and white cis lesbians.
Laverne Cox is fucking awesome
But what she represents and what she is accomplishing (Janet Mock too and other notable twoc right now — Carmen Carera)
is actually more amazing in its proper historical context
because not only are they elevating and pushing the status of twoc and centering us in a hostile environment
but they are also managing to finally finally wrest back the legacy of those who came before from the people who stole it in the first place.

im remaking this post because reddit literally ruined me
my name is jeremy and i’m a 16 year old demiboy with toxic and abusive parents who is in extreme need of money. as you can see, i have a donate button on my blog. here are a few reasons as to why i need money
i need to buy clothing and other things to pass off as a male
my parents refuse to buy me food so i’ll need money for this as well
i’m saving up so i can possibly rent out a room somewhere or maybe even live with my boyfriend in a few years
i’d also be donating some of it to my boyfriend who is in desperate need of medication
if i have any left over money, i’d be spending it on something that could benefit me (i.e. something to distract me during panic attacks or just things that would keep me in my comfort zone in case of an emergency)
i’m also in the process of sending others my unused clothing that are in need of it (for transmen and women) so i need money for shipping things out or just donating things to people
my parents emotionally abuse me and have no problem with it. they constantly encourage my family members to join in on their mocking as well. my mom is obsessed with me being the perfect daughter, she constantly denies that i’m a male, and she tells our whole family that i’m a disappointment. my father stands on the sidelines, but has also joked about me being female and refuses to buy me any clothing that a man could wear. i do not have any physical evidence as of right now except for the fact that my friend ashton witnessed my parents taunting me by calling me the “girliest names we could come up with”
i can not get a job. if you ask me this question i will block you. i am emotionally unstable, too young, have no transportation, have no qualities that are fit for the jobs i want, and my parents would literally throw me out if they found out i could “pay for myself,” so i would practically be homeless.
if you are from reddit i hate you and stop looking at my posts.
